The office of the State Tuberculosis Officer has urged students to learn about tuberculosis and disseminate information to the community to eliminate the infectious disease by 2025.
To educate students about the disease, an awareness programme was conducted by the office for students on the impact of tuberculosis at Brookside Higher Secondary School, Shillong as part of the World Health Day.
At the programme, Assistant Programme Officer cum DR-TB Coordinator encouraged students to focus on the identification of signs and symptoms of tuberculosis and elaborated on the treatment procedures.
To enhance the knowledge of the students, a quiz competition was also conducted by Tracy Kharkamni, State Coordinator, followed by a pledge to eliminate tuberculosis.
An introduction note by State Nikshya Operator, Bornali Nongrum about World Health Day was also shared with the students.
