The office of the District Medical and Health Officer of East Khasi Hills, under the National Programme for Palliative Care (NPPC), conducted a 10-day foundation training course for medical officers and staff nurses of healthcare facilities of the district.
The training ran from March 7 to 18.
Dr SS Nongbri, Additional Director of Health Services and Research Cum State Nodal Officer, NPPC, was the chief guest and Dr A Lyngdoh, District Medical and Health Officer, the guest of honour.
The primary focus of the training course was to provide the medical officers and nurses with basic palliative care skills so that patients residing within the vicinity of their health facility can avail the services.
The training rounded off with certificates being awarded to all the trainers and trainees who attended the programme followed by a speech from Dr S Khonglah, Additional DMHO
