Forty-one Meghalaya students studying in Ukraine have returned to the state, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wrote on social media today.
Four more Meghalayans escaped the war-torn country that is bearing the brunt of a Russian assault and landed in India this morning. One more is currently over the Ukrainian border in Hungary, while one, Sangma said, has decided to stay on in Ukraine in a safe location near the border with relatives.
The CM thanked and appreciated the “continuous support” of the Prime Minister’s office and Union Ministry of External Affairs.
