-Bhoi police on Thursday night arrested three people who were found in possession of a large quantity of explosives.
Relying on intelligence, the police intercepted an Assam-registered vehicle (AS 01 BE 3800) at Byrnihat in which the explosives were being transported.
The suspects, whose names were withheld, were arrested at around 11:30pm. The operation was possible thanks to close coordination with Assam Rifles.
Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad informed that nine cartons of gelatin sticks of roughly 210kg, 50 aluminium instantaneous electric detonators and 2,000 ordinary detonators.
A case has been registered under the Explosive Substances Act and efforts are on to trace further suspects.
