As part of Financial Literacy Week 2022, PNB-RSETI, East Khasi Hills, Mawphlang conducted a financial literacy camp at its premise with the trainees on the theme “Go Digital, Go Secure”.
The programme was attended by Souvik Nag Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Banlam Jingshai Nongbri, Assistant, RBI, Shillong, and the Lead District Manager, Lead Bank Scheme, Kamalendu Roy, East Khasi Hills District and representative from MSRLS Rajesh Sohmat (Block Project Manager) along with the community cadre of Mawphlang BMMU.
On the occasion RBI Shillong distributed school bags to some children with financial literacy messages pertaining to the theme embedded in the bags for wider dissemination of the messages.
A presentation was given by the officials of RBI Shillong on the theme where various types of digital transactions were highlighted, advantage of digital transactions were explained as well as dos and don’ts of digital transactions and necessary precautions to be taken during digital transactions.
The participants were also made aware of various online frauds and precautions to be taken in that regard.
Director RSETI, Jacqueline Nongkhlaw, explained the various aspects of digital banking and also addressed the participants the need of financial literacy to achieve meaningful financial inclusion.
