Following the state government’s notification last week, the Ri-Bhoi District Magistrate announced today that night curfew in the district has been lifted with immediate effect.
All persons entering Meghalaya through Ri-Bhoi who are fully vaccinated will not be required to undergo RT-PCR tests at the Covid Screening Centres whereas others have to produce an RT-PCR negative report 72 hours after testing or undergo a test at the entry point. This will not apply to children below 15 years of age unless they are symptomatic.
Furthermore, private vehicles within the district are allowed to ply on odd-even basis except on Sundays.
All gatherings/events/meetings, including weddings and funerals, are permitted subject to prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner and only fully vaccinated persons are permitted to enter restaurants/cinema halls/bars/clubs.
