The All Meghalaya Minorities Students Union (AMMSU) has demanded for the immediate posting of a Medical and Health Officer (M&HO) in the Bhaitbari CHC after the previous doctor was transferred from the hospital.
In a letter sent to the Director of Health Services today, AMMSU stated that the CHC in question has been running without M&HO since December 7, last year after the transfer of Dr Mukta Miah.
“The public are suffering without an M&HO and with the third wave of COVID around the corner, the situation is going to get grimmer. We thereby urge that a M&HO may be posted at the earliest for the sake of the general public,” said AMMSU in a memo to the director.
