The YMCA Shillong held its annual general meeting and elected new office bearers who will serve until 2023.
The Most Rev Purely Lyngdoh is the new president, with Carl O Rangad the vice-president. Joben R Myrboh has been named as honorary secretary, Badeitishisha Kharbithai assistant secretary and Gideon L Kharkongor treasurer.
The board of directors comprises DD Lapang, CD Kynjing, Frederick Roy Kharkongor, Pochister Kharkongor, Malcolm Tariang, Rev Sunshine Warjri, Rev VTS Langstieh, Dr Laitphar Cajee, Adrian Lamonte Pariat and David Mukhim.
The members took the oath of office led by the president and was dedicated by Shamir Thabah, the secretary of the YMCA North Eastern India Region.
Meanwhile, the YMCA Shillong also announced that it will organise Christmas caroling on Saturday at the Church of God (M&A), Nongthymmai (Pohkseh) where several choir groups from different Christian denominations in the city will participate.
Fr Richard Majaw, Vicar General of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese will be the key speaker.
