A state-wide mega free medical health camp was organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority on the occasion of Pan India Awareness & Outreach Programme as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Legal Services Week yesterday in the 11 districts of the state.
Medical facilities such as medical checkup, Covid-19 vaccination, MHIS registration, immunization/OBG-GY for women and Children and Counselling (Adolescent/ ICTC/Mental Health), Labour Registration, Aadhaar Card registration, Legal Aid Counselling etc. were provided in the camp free of cost.
Stalls were also set up for exhibition of schemes and services provided by various departments of the district which includes the District Legal Services Authorities, Office of the District Social Welfare Officer (including District Child Protection Units) in the 11 Districts.
Stalls of the Election Department, Education Department, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Water Resource Department, Office of the District Agriculture Officer, Office of the District Horticulture Officer, Office of the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer, Office of the Superintendent of Fisheries among others were also setup in most Districts.
The programmes were also attended by Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Justice W. Diengdoh, Registrar General of the Meghalaya High Court and Member Secretary, MSLSA, District and Session Judges Cum Chairpersons, DLSAs, Deputy Commissioners, Chief Judicial Magistrates, Officer on Special Duty, MSLSA, Secretary, District Legal Services Authorities; Superintendents of Police (SPs); Block Development Officers, various Heads of Departments.
Services including medical aid were provided to a number of students, teachers, nokmas, sordars, headmen, members of Self Help Groups and the general public, etc. free of cost.
