Meghalaya could not make it a third win in a row in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy domestic T20 tournament as they were beaten by Vidarbha by eight wickets in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh, today.
Meghalaya won the toss and opted to bat first but were dismissed for 96 in 19.1 overs in the Plate Group match. Chirag Khurana top-scored with 26 from 20 deliveries while Anish Charak (22) and Akash Kumar Choudhary (12) also got into double figures.
The Meghalaya bowlers did not have much to defend but they tried their level best to make proceedings interesting. Vidarbha were looking for a quick win to boost their net run rate and got to 100/2 in 11.1 overs. Dippu Sangma (1/17) and Charak (1/19) were Meghalaya’s sole wicket-takers.
The next match for Meghalaya will be against Tripura on Monday.
