Voters in the state can now get their Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) at their doorstep via speed post.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was today signed between Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya and Department of Posts for delivery of EPICs and various notices through speed post services on mutually agreed-upon terms.
As per the agreement, the Post Master General will provide facilities available under the speed post services for booking, transmission and door delivery of the voter’s ID card.
The agreement was entered between CEO F.R. Kharkongor and Jyoti Meena, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices on behalf of Chief Post Master General of Meghalaya held at the Additional Secretariat Building here.
