Prominent leaders, sordars, rangbah shnongs and leaders of organisations of War Mihngi and War Jaiñtia have together formed the Co-ordination Committee of India Bangla Riwar People to take up issues of threat and harassment meted to the Khasi people in Bangladesh.
Spokesperson of the committee, Edmund Khongngai informed that a meeting was held in Dawki on September 11 wherein concerns were raised on the threats and harassments meted to the Khasi people in Bangladesh.
The meeting has also urged the State government to take up the matter with the Bangladesh government.
The committee is chaired by RM Shabong, Kmen Myrchiang as vice chairman and SS Manners as general secretary besides others.
