Applications have been invited for posts in the ‘Meghalaya Institute of Governance’, which has been created through the Meghalaya government’s collaboration with the Indian School of Business (ISB).
The Meghalaya Legislative Research Fellowship (MLRF) has been introduced by the state government with the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB to “facilitate support for research and data analysis for state legislators” and to empower the Assembly, a press release said today.
For this, the Meghalaya Institute of Governance (MIG), the nodal agency for the MLRF, is recruiting 12 legislative fellows and two data fellows from Meghalaya for a minimum period of one year. The fellows will be selected, trained, and mentored through a structured two-year programme by the Bharti Institute of Public Policy.
Under the MLRF, the fellows will work in close coordination with selected legislators of the Meghalaya Assembly and agencies of the government, providing research inputs in legislative, procedural or other anticipated issues of interest in the Assembly.
Academicians, student researchers or policy enthusiasts from Meghalaya are welcome to apply before September 20, 2021. For further details, those interested can contact: Aarushi Jain at aarushi_jain@isb.edu or BIPP@isb.edu.
This collaboration will also result in the formation of a Meghalaya Data Portal (MDP), a data repository for policy and governance needs, housing datasets specific to the state’s programmes, schemes, socio-economic demographics, central funds, departmental data, among others.
