The Meghalaya cabinet today approved the amendment to the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission Rules 2014. The rules will be called the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission Amendment Rules, 2021.
The cabinet also approved the Contingency Fund of Meghalaya (Amendment) Bill 2021 in order to meet additional and unforeseen expenditure by different Departments. The corpus of the Meghalaya Contingency Fund to be raised from 305 Cr to 505 crore, the Chief Minister informed.
Amendment to the Tripartite MoU for the implementation of the BHARATNET Project in Meghalaya was also approved in order to to ensure speedy implementation of the Bharat Net project in the State. The agreement was signed by the Department of Telecommunication, GoI, IT, & Communications Department, GoM and BBNL.
Further, the panel of names for selection to the post of the President of the Meghalaya State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission & the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions, extension of the services of Major Dr. K. I. Singh as the Zila Sainik Welfare Officer for another 3 years was approved by the cabinet.
The cabinet also accepted the proposal to repeal Meghalaya Medical Attendance Rules 1981 and the government will pass the Meghalaya Medical Attendance Rules 2021.
Under this, new provisions and new categories of treatment under the medical Attendance Rules for medical reimbursements for government employees will be included to allow the overall process on medical reimbursement to be more structured.
