The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Tuesday took a dig at the Congress for alleging the former of misusing home department for illegal collection along the state’s national highways.
“Whatever allegation (being made) is only the frustration of the Congress that they are out of power and they cannot live without it,” UDP leader and Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said.
The Home Minister also said that there are rumblings in the grand old party and one may not know the Congress may split into two-three groups in due course of time.
Rymbui added, “That is the practice of the Congress. I am very sorry to hear from the president of the MPCC who as soon as he took over the post he made such allegations.”
The Home Minister also said that the UDP is never and we will never use any department for the benefit of the party or for any individual’s benefit.
Recently, newly appointed chief of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Vincent H Pala had made these allegations. Pala alleged that the UDP misused the Home department for collecting money illegally in the national highways, and also illegally collected money from coal mines.
