The autumn session of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from September 10 to 17.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislative Assembly met here today to fix the calendar for the upcoming autumn session.
Chaired by Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, the BAC meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, leader of opposition Mukul Sangma and two MLAs – Ampareen Lyngdoh and Balajied Synrem.
According to the calendar approved by the BAC, the session will have six working days, with three days each allotted for government business and private member’s business.
On the first day on September 10, the government will lay ordinances, orders and notification and also introduce some bills. It will also present Supplementary Demands for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation for 2021-22.
On September 13, 15 and 16, the private members business will be taken up in the House besides motions and resolutions. The voting on Supplementary Demands for Grants will be carried out on September 14 and 17.
Further, on September 17, the House will pass the Meghalaya Appropriation (No IV) Bill, 2021 and other government bills.
