Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that he has discussed Shillong’s ongoing law and order concerns with Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday following the killing of ex-HNLC leader Cherishterfield Thangkhiew.
“I had a detailed discussion with the Union Home Minister yesterday. We spoke on two occasions … and on both he assured us full cooperation and support,” the Chief Minister said.
Sangma said that based on the assurance of the Home Ministry, the state government requested five companies of paramilitary police forces.
He informed that, accordingly, three from the Central Reserve Police Force and two from the Border Security Force have been requisitioned for the State.
