After being replaced as cabinet minister by his BJP colleague Sanbor Shullai recently, former Health Minister AL Hek has now been appointed as a new adviser to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
“The Governor of Meghalaya is pleased to appoint Alexander Laloo Hek MLA as adviser to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya,” the CM’s office said in a notification.
The swap in cabinet ministers has not gone down well completely, with the Meghalaya BJP saying that it had not been consulted before the change.
Hek also expressed disappointment, saying that he was not informed prior to his removal.
