Social activist Nilbath Ch Marak has written to the director of Health and Family Welfare Department seeking the revocation of an order for the transfer of the psychiatrist from Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
The letter seeking the recall of Dr Augusta Kasri W Momin, comes after another conglomeration of NGOs complained on the same transfer earlier. The doctor in question had served three years at the Civil Hospital before his transfer to Baghmara Civil Hospital.
“There is no other psychiatrist in both East and North Garo Hills and he was serving people from both districts. We object to his transfer without a replacement for the Civil Hospital in Williamnagar,” said the activist.
Through his complaint, Nilbath has requested the department to once again depute the psychiatrist to the Civil Hospital once again.
The complaint was filed yesterday.
