Occupancy of beds meant specifically for Covid-19 patients in hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Meghalaya dropped today to just 63 percent.
In Shillong hospitals, the occupancy rate stood at only 67 percent today, even as Health Minister AL Hek inaugurated the 50-bed Shillong Civil Hospital extension in Umsawli.
There are now 1,112 such Covid beds (138 in intensive care units (ICUs) and 974 oxygen-supported beds) in the state. As of today, 695 are occupied all over Meghalaya. In Shillong the figure is 556 occupied out of 826.
