New containment zone
New containment orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The house and compound of Lucyber Mery Mylliem in Mawkyrwat has been declared as a containment area.
Daloi mourned
The people of Darrang Elaka and their daloi, Pyrwa Lymba, have expressed deep remorse on the death of the former secretary of the elaka, Francis Lamin.
Terming it as a great loss, Lymba said that Lamin made many contributions towards the elaka during his 20 years of service as secretary. The elaka has sent its condolences and prayers to the family members of the deceased.
Police hold webinar on pandemic
A digital health session was organised by Meghalaya Police for its officials today. The principal speaker was Dr Rahul Bhargava of Gurgaon. Director General of Police R Chandranathan was the chief guest.
The webinar was organised to enlighten officials regarding health procedures that have to be followed by frontline workers during the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of vaccination. The programme also dispelled coronavirus rumours and conspiracy theories and addressed several other issues for the police.
