Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari during the 2020-21 fiscal approved seven projects totalled at 14.99 km that costs Rs. 142.5 crore for Meghalaya.
On April 9, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways has accorded approval to the construction of the Jowai bye pass, which connects NH 40E, at Rs. 93.59 crore, including slab cover cum footpath on various stretches of the Shillong-Nongstoiñ road on NH 44E at Rs 4.92 crore and bridge rehabilitation on a portion of NH 51 at Rs. 2.57 crore.
Apart from Meghalaya, Gadkari approved a project worth Rs. 29.05 crore for NH 310A in 2020-21 for Sikkim.
For Mizoram, he has approved the strengthening of a 27.98km stretch of NH 154 at a cost of Rs 24.07 crore in 2020-21.
For Manipur, he approved three projects totaling 92.68 km and costing Rs 51.24 crore.
Manipur has approved the preparation of a DPR for an elevated corridor through Imphal city at a cost of Rs 2.15 crore, a portion of NH 102A for restoration and rehabilitation at a cost of Rs 78.23 crore and the strengthening and widening of the Imphal-Moreh segment of NH 39(102) at a cost of Rs 70.86 crore.
