In order to keep alive the memories of the gallant deeds of the heroes of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and to motivate serving personnel, Valour Day is marked every year on April 9.
At the North Eastern Sector Headquarters in Shillong, the CRPF observed the day at the Battalion Headquarters. Inspector General Sonal V Misra along with Deputy Inspectors General Vinay Kr Singh and Ram Sukhpal Singh, Commandants Mohan Prakash and Md Yusuf and other officers and jawans celebrated the occasion.
Valour Day remembers the extreme sacrifice of the personnel who bravely fought for the country and repulsed an attack by Pakistan in the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat during the 1965 Indo-Pakistan War.
