Rambrai Jyrngam MDC Bajop Pyngrope accused Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today of saying one thing and doing the exact opposite in relation to the district councils.
“The state government keeps delaying paying the share of the district council but, during the visit of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, where the MDCs were invited, the Chief Minister pleaded with the Speaker for the need to strengthen the district councils by giving more autonomy and funds, which is the opposite of what he is doing,” Pyngrope said.
If this is really what the CM wants then why is the state government delaying in paying the councils’ their share of funds, the Congress MDC added.
