Meghalaya Government has decided to release 25 per cent of the second arrears installment of deficit school teachers.
In a notification issued today, the Finance (Economic Affairs) Department that an amount of Rs 3074.74 lakh will be released as the second installment to the deficit school teaching and non-teaching staff as per recommendations of the Fifth Meghalaya Pay Commission.
It may be noted that around 4000 deficit teachers have been receiving their salary under the Fifth Pay Commission, but the government has only released the first installment, i.e 25 per cent of their arrears in December, 2018. The government had said that the remaining 75 per cent would be paid in equal installments.
