Residents of Khliehmyntriang village in East Jaiñtia Hills are a perturbed lot as rusted electric poles are putting their lives to danger.
Concerned with the issue, the East Jaiñtia National Council (EJNC), Khliehmyntriang unit met officials of the MePDCL, Moowakhu with a request to immediately arrange new poles to prevent any untoward incidents.
The groups said there are five electric poles in the village that are in a precarious position and may fall anytime due to continuing corrosion at the bottom.
Meanwhile, officials assured that the matter will be taken up.
