A one-day Trekking Programme to David Scott Trail was organised by the office of the Indiatourism, Shillong in collaboration with Meghalaya Sport Climbing Association(MeSCMA) yesterday.
D Rapsang, District Youth Coordinator, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong flagged off the programme as chief guest, in the presence of R S Paswan, Assistant Director Indiatourism, Shillong.
Rapsang in his speech greatly appreciated all participants for taking keen interest in adventure activities that are beneficial for their health, both physically and mentally.
The objectives of this programme for the youth were as follows- to promote trekking and instill a spirit of adventure and discipline, to promote cleanliness, and finally to promote the conservation of natural resources.
There were a total of 32 participants from different areas of Shillong including 15 girls and the youngest participant was a 13 year old boy.
