The body of an 18-year-old man, Emadul Husain, of Mahisguma in Assam, who was kidnapped in September, was recovered by police today.
Police said that Husain was murdered in the forest around Domapara village, which is under Zikzak block near Ampati.
Three suspects – two from Assam and one from South West Garo Hills – have been arrested in a joint operation by Assam and Meghalaya police.
They had led the police to the location of the body today. The kidnap is thought to be for ransom.
