The FKJGP Risiang area unit organized an awareness program on Thursday on the theme “Child Marriage “.
The programme was attended by headman of 15 villages, ASHA workers, Anganwadi, youth and students, members of the FKJGP, staff of the social welfare, childline and from the police department.
The programme was chaired by Stephan Marthong the local headman of Risiang village and also a welcome speech by Bhalang John Kharbani President FKJGP Risiang area unit followed by a short speech by Endrius Ryntong Agricultural secy FKJGP Maweit circle.
The resource persons were B. Chyne from the social welfare department, Phidalin Nongbri from the health department, Adventure Behphat Nongstoin Social service society (child line), D. P. Nongbri and Herbert Kharkongor SDPO Mairang from the police department
The resource persons spoke on how child marriage affects the health, education, etc. and also they encourage the parents that they should take good care of their children in their everyday life. Laws on child marriage and rape were also focused at the awareness programme.
