East Garo Hills police today recovered a haul of arms and ammunition from a forest in Nengmadalgre.
The recovery was made following a search operation launched based on information regarding the presence of illegal arms and ammunition in the forest beyond the Simsang River.
Police recovered 85 rounds of 7.71 mm ammunition of Sniper Rifle that were brought to Williamnagar police station for verification.
A case is being registered for further investigation while search is going on to recover more weapons.
