The body of one Romarsing Mawlein was recovered today from the Umbah-Umtyrkhang River by search and rescue teams in conjunction with local police following yesterday’s incident where two men went missing in the river.
Mawlein’s body was recovered at around 10am. Efforts are on to locate the second missing person, Madan Lyngkhoi.
According to police, Mawlein first fell into the river and, in an attempt to save him, Lyngkhoi also went missing underwater.
