Shillong, Oct 28: Six officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) interacted with 16 Class XI and XII Science students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Umroi Cantonment, to introduce them to careers in aviation.
Students were briefed on roles like commercial pilot, aircraft maintenance engineer and air traffic controller, along with the qualifications, training and skills required — from scientific knowledge and technical expertise to communication, discipline and safety.
The initiative aimed to expose students to options beyond conventional careers and help them plan higher education choices, in line with the National Education Policy’s focus on career awareness and experiential learning.
The school termed it a valuable exposure for students to the fast-growing aviation sector.
