Shillong, Oct 20: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday laid the foundation for a ₹8.57 crore synthetic football ground at Anangpara Playground in South West Garo Hills.
In his address, the CM said with five sports-related projects worth ₹60.05 crore implemented or underway in the district, the government is strengthening sports infrastructure and creating more opportunities for youth. He said the facility will support football development, nurture local talent and provide a platform for competitive sporting activities, channelling the energy of our youth into positive pursuits.
Salmanpara MLA Ian Botham K. Sangma, T.K. Marak, Block Development Officer, Zikzak C&RD Block, Mongera M. Marak, District Sports Officer were present on the occasion.
