Shillong, Oct 6: The Seng Samla Malki Pyllun on Tuesday warned those indulging in activities causing disturbance in the locality after residents complained that some youths created ruckus in an inebriated condition near Shillong Law College.
Residents had captured video of people standing on the road near the college at around 12:30 am on March 3.
Speaking to the media, SSMP president Franky Kharumnuid said the youth organisation conducts regular patrols to curb crime in the locality. He said the incident that night was an insult to the statue of the former KSU leader.
Residents said this is not the first instance and the place has become a frequent spot for such activities, creating fear psychosis among residents and passers-by returning late after work.
They alleged that those involved may be drug users who could bully people for money or possessions.
Rangbah Dong of Dhanketi John Bamon condemned the incident, stating that the youths were using abusive language and warned that such acts should not be repeated.
