Shillong, Sep 25: The Meghalaya Programme for Adolescent Wellbeing, Empowerment and Resilience (MPOWER) and the CK-12 Foundation have joined hands to strengthen digital and interactive learning in 31 government and government-aided schools across East Khasi Hills.
The 31 schools, covering both rural and urban areas, will serve as the pilot phase to assess how digital and blended learning can be integrated into different school settings.
As part of the initiative, 47 teachers and four principals from the district were trained in digital learning practices and familiarised with the CK-12 Learning Platform, its interactive resources and classroom applications.
The partnership has introduced digital resources in Mathematics and Science for Classes 6 to 12, giving students access to interactive content and self-paced learning tools, including Flexi, CK-12’s AI-powered tutor for step-by-step guidance.
“Technology can play a meaningful role in making learning more accessible, engaging, and student-centred. Our collaboration with CK-12 under MPOWER will help bring interactive digital resources closer to students and teachers, while complementing the efforts of our educators,” MPOWER Project Director Sampath Kumar said.
Co-founder and CTPO of CK-12 Foundation Miral Shah said, “CK-12 is committed to making high-quality, personalised learning accessible to every student. The platform provides interactive and adaptive resources, along with AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to help teachers create activities and respond to individual learning needs.”
Taken up in partnership with the Education Department, the initiative will make digital learning part of regular classroom teaching. MPOWER will support ICT infrastructure, including devices and connectivity, and monitor and evaluate outcomes.
The pilot is expected to improve conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in Maths and Science, boost engagement, and support teachers in using digital tools effectively, marking another step towards a stronger digital education ecosystem in Meghalaya.
