Shillong, Sep 17: Two bands from Meghalaya—Pateng and Toxic Pony—have stormed into the Grand Finale of NE Star 2026, the Ultimate Music Talent Hunt.

The two power-packed acts will now represent the state at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati, on September 27, battling top soloists and bands from all eight northeastern states for the coveted NE Star crown.

From Arunachal Pradesh, Mannga Arangham and Gejar Bojir have been shortlisted in the solo category. Assam will be represented by soloists Abhijit Borah and Pallavi Devi. Manipur’s finalists are bands Not Funny and Distorted Morticians. Mizoram’s solo finalists are Benjoa Khiangte and Emmanuel. Nagaland will be represented by band Stereo Groove and soloist Samuel Subba. Sikkim’s finalists are the Naad Group Folk Instrumental and soloist Sumit Gajmer, while Tripura will send soloists Bipul Singha and Snigdha Roy.

NE Star is a talent hunt dedicated to discovering and promoting the finest musical artists from across Northeast. Powered by Toyota and managed by Unitex Inc., the platform provides a launchpad for emerging solo acts and bands to showcase their talent on a regional and national scale.
