Nongpoh, Sep 11: One person was injured after a clinker-laden truck rammed into two parked cars along Shillong Bypass at Umroi Madan on Friday.
The incident occurred near Tyndai resort after the truck travelling from Lumshnong towards Sonapur allegedly lost control.
The truck first hit a Renault Duster (ML05 AA 1799) before crashing into a Mahindra Bolero (ML05 S 3352). Duster driver Iamutlang Nongspung of Mawryngkneng was injured and taken to Bhoirymbong CHC. No one was inside the Bolero.
Police from Khapmara PIC seized all three vehicles and took them into custody for investigation.
The truck driver, identified as Samely Rymbai of Moodymmai, West Jaintia Hills, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of accident.
