Shillong, Sep 11: BSF Director General Praveen Kumar called on Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar at Lok Bhavan on Friday.
During the meeting, the DG briefed the Governor on measures taken by BSF for protection and security of India-Bangladesh border shared by Meghalaya and Assam, including role in maintaining effective border security and addressing challenges along international border.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of BSF in safeguarding the international border and assured full support and cooperation of the state government in strengthening border protection.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of close coordination between BSF and state government for effective border management and security of the region.
