Shillong, Sep 1: The Centre for Internal Security Analysis (CISA) will organise the Meghalaya pre-event event of the North Eastern Regional Dialogue on Internal Security (NERDIS-2026) on Tuesday.
The dialogue will bring together security practitioners, police and defence officials, academics and policy experts to discuss border challenges, internal security, development and resilience.
Dr P.J. Khache, Allahabad University, will deliver the keynote. Participants include former Gauhati HC judge Justice BP Katakey, former Ambassador Riewad Warjri, NEHU professors Susmita Sengupta and Geetika Ranjan, Meghalaya Police officials Mary G.T. Sangma and Vikash Kumar, JNU scholar Dr Rikil Chyrmang, Ramakrishna Mission’s Swami Anuragananda, and Jaintia National Council president Sambormi Lyngdoh, among others.
The deliberations will cover India-Bangladesh border security, infiltration and smuggling, narcotics and organised crime, illegal mining, disaster preparedness and youth vulnerability.
