Shillong, Aug 28: The ICAR-KVK Ri Bhoi trained 71 farmers at Niangbari Them on managing bud rot in arecanut with Bordeaux mixture.
The training programme held on Friday under the District Level Special Task Force (DLSTF) and ATMA Ri Bhoi, sensitised growers on causes, early detection, sanitation and plant-protection to curb losses.
Experts demonstrated preparation and application of Bordeaux mixture, dosage, precautions and coverage. Farmers were advised to follow procedure and seek help in severe cases.
KVK said the drive is part of the DLSTF established for control of bud rot disease to cut losses and protect livelihoods in arecanut belt.
