Shillong, Aug 25: The Meghalaya government has launched Early Salary Advance (ESA) Scheme for regular employees.
The scheme was launched on August 19 by Finance Commissioner & Secretary Vijay Kumar D, in presence of senior Finance and NIC officials.
Under ESA, employees can instantly access a portion of salary before payday to meet urgent needs. InstaPe has been empanelled as a service provider in partnership with Suryoday Small Finance Bank as lending institution.
The Directorate of Accounts & Treasuries under the Finance Department will be the implementation authority.
An official statement said the initiative aims to make Meghalaya progressive, inclusive and future-ready, extending to government workforce — teachers, health workers, administrative staff and field officers.
It said the launch shows commitment to leveraging technology and responsible financial services to improve financial resilience and well-being, providing quick, transparent access to short-term advances.
InstaPe founder Atul Gupta said the company was honoured to be empanelled and will deliver best-in-class services contributing to financial inclusion and wellness.
