Shillong, Aug 11: The Spandan League District-Level Junior (U-18) Football Tournament concluded today in Tura.
The closing ceremony was graced by Lalit Mohan Sharma, Deputy Insp Gen, SHQ BSF Tura, as the chief guest.
Organised by 144 Bn BSF under the supervision of SHQ BSF Tura, the tournament was conducted as part of the SPANDAN programme of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), with participation from 16 teams.
The final match was played between Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Tura and Rongram United Secondary School, Tura. Government Boys’ HSS emerged victorious with a 3–0 win, securing the trophy. Rongkhon Don Bosco Higher Secondary School secured the third position.
The ceremony was attended by officers from BSF, CRPF and the Army, representatives of the Civil Hospital Tura medical team, participating teams, school authorities, coaches, team managers, students, players, BSF personnel and media representatives.
