Nongpoh, Aug 10: Ten days after 16-year-old Mebanteinam Ramshon went missing from Mawkyrdep, Umroi, his family and police are yet to trace him.
According to Ri-Bhoi police, Mebanteinam’s mother Matisha Ramshon filed an FIR after he went missing on August 1, 2026, reportedly after leaving home with a priest. Family members searched various places and later found only his bag at a Retreat Centre in Umroi Nongrah.
The next day, Mebanteinam allegedly called his mother from 6009666700, saying he was in Shillong and asking for his Aadhaar Card. When she called back, she was told the number’s user was at Guwahati Airport preparing to board a flight, and that her son was with that person before the call ended.
Police have registered a case at Umiam Police Station and launched an investigation. At the time he went missing, Mebanteinam was wearing black trousers, a black T-shirt and sandals.
