Shillong, Aug 7: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui today informed that the central government has not released its share of the salary component for SSA teachers since April.
The SSA teachers in Meghalaya did receive the state’s share, however.
Rymbui informed that, on July 22–23, he attended the Education Ministers’ meet in New Delhi wherein he informed the Centre that Meghalaya released only the state’s share of the SSA teachers’ salaries for May, June and July.
The central government then pledged to release the funds within a week’s time and has done so, with teachers to get their shares soon.
