Shillong, Aug 6: Ri Bhoi Police are seeking help to identify an unidentified man who was killed in a road accident at Mawtnum.
According to a statement issued by the Superintendent of Police, the accident occurred at around 12:10 am on August 5. The man is suspected to have been hit by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. A search of the accident spot and the body yielded no personal documents, identification or mobile phone.
An inquest and post-mortem examination have been conducted, and the body has been kept at the Civil Hospital Morgue Room, Nongpoh, for identification.
The deceased is described as approximately 55 years old, 170 cm tall, with a swarthy complexion and oval face. He had greying hair and beard. He was wearing a black high neck top, blue trousers, mixed-colour underwear and a black hat. He was also wearing a brown mala around his neck and a Rakhi made of red cotton thread on his left wrist.
