Shillong, Jul 29: The University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has been granted recognition under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The recognition makes USTM eligible for various UGC-funded schemes, research grants, faculty development programmes, and academic collaborations.
Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque called it “a proud moment” and a testament to USTM’s commitment to quality education and research.
Vice Chancellor Prof. G. D. Sharma said the status will strengthen academic collaborations and enhance learning opportunities for students.
Established as one of the leading private universities in Northeast India, USTM said the 12(B) status marks a major milestone for its growth, research, and institutional development.
