Shillong, Jun 27: The Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) on Thursday convened a meeting of its Members of the District Council (MDCs) at Nongkrem, where the party’s president, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, extended special appreciation to the MDCs for their commendable performance and hard work during the recently concluded Session.
Sources said the meeting also included discussions on recent speculation suggesting a lack of understanding and coordination among the MDCs, as well as the resignation of the Executive Member (EM) from Mawkyrwat.
All VPP MDCs attended the meeting except the MDC from Mylliem, who was absent due to ill health.
The meeting reaffirmed that there is no internal crisis within the VPP-led administration. It also conveyed that all the MDCs remain united and committed to working together more effectively in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council while further strengthening the party.
