Shillong, Jun 11: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Ri Bhoi District today distributed sports materials and held a youth club development programme in Nongpoh.
The programme aimed to strengthen youth engagement, promote sports culture, and encourage the development of youth clubs across the district. Representatives from various youth clubs, community leaders, and young participants attended the event.
During the programme, participants were also enlightened on various state government schemes. The Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge was also administered, reaffirming the commitment of participants towards building a drug-free society and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.
KHADC MDC Mathew Makdoh, Hemanta Timung Convenor Nasha Mukh Bharat Abhiyan and Michael Thangminlien Mate Deputy Director MY Bharat attended the programme.
Makdoh in his address encouraged young people to actively participate in sports, community service, and developmental activities. He emphasised the role of youth clubs in fostering unity, discipline, and positive social change.
Timung urged the youth to stay away from drugs and other social evils while embracing sports and constructive activities as a pathway to a healthy and successful future.
