Shillong, Jun 4: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has lodged a complaint at Sadar Police Station against a YouTube channel, “Ka Jingshisha The Truth”, for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the party and its state president, Vincent H Pala.
Kynpham V Kharlyngdoh, chairman of the MPCC state legal team, told reporters today that the party met the Superintendent of Police today to request follow-up action on the complaint filed at Sadar Police Station.
Kharlyngdoh said that, on the channel, a person identified as R Rani had used “inappropriate language” against the Congress Party and its president. “He passed derogatory remarks against Pala by calling him ‘Bseiñ,’ meaning a snake, and used other inappropriate language,” he said.
He added that the party does not recognise the individual and termed the use of such language “unacceptable,” especially during election time. “Many opportunists are taking advantage and we demand that the law take its own course,” Kharlyngdoh said.
MPCC member Joplin Scott Shylla said Rani not only made remarks against the Congress Party and its present leaders but also against some former members.
