Shillong, May 5: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has invited applications for the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards, which are for meritorious acts in saving the life of a person in incidents such as drowning, accidents, fire incidents, electrocution, landslides, animal attack and rescue operation in mines, etc.
The awards are given in three categories: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak.
Interested persons/members of the armed forces, police and of recognised fire services, etc are also eligible for these awards provided the lifesaving is performed by them.
For individuals from East Khasi Hills, nominations should be sent to the EKH Deputy Commissioner by June 3, 2026. Detailed information can be downloaded from eastkhasihills.gov.in.
